The complainant has alleged that they were targeted due to their Kashmiri origin.

As per the written complaint given by one of the Kashmiris, they all were roughed up and the mob was shouting slogans, "Kashmiri terrorists should be sent back".

The victims, including four women, were surrounded and beaten up by a mob of 30-40 people late Thursday night.

The Delhi police on Saturday arrested four persons a day after a group of four people from Kashmir were beaten up in southeast Delhi on Thursday night.

The woman alleged "constant harassment" and mentioned that the victims have requested police protection.

A video of the incident shows some people, including women, arguing with and assaulting the victims. She also claimed that she and other residents were carrying sticks because of a dog menace. It is also found that the residents' welfare association (RWA) and the woman have filed 52 complaints against each other over the past five years. The victims claim they are living here for several years.

According to the report, one of the Kashmiri women said, "My sisters were abused and beaten up". "It was a planned attack on us just because we are Kashmiri people".

Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, however, today informed Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba that the alleged thrashing of the group had nothing to do with their origin. "We have been asking them not feed dogs in the public places". When we took out our phones to record, they broke two of them.

On Friday, Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal had said: "We have registered a case on charges of sexual harassment, making sexually-coloured remarks, criminal intimidation and using words and acts meant to insult the modesty of women against the accused". "We had alerted police about the issue earlier, and told them that residents don't want us staying here", Indian Express quoted the man, who has been staying on rent in Sunlight Colony's Siddhartha Extension for over seven years. "They called us Kashmiri terrorists and asked us to go to Kashmir", the man alleged.

Times Now, however, has reported that the girl was beaten up for feeding stray dogs.
