Her latest film Raazi, which released on Friday, will see Alia play an Indian spy who marries a Pakistani major exclusively to retrieve information and pass it own to Indian authorities. After raking in Rs 7.53 crore on day one of its release on May 11, the film has made another Rs 11 crore on Saturday, taking the film's total to Rs 18.53 crore. With just two days' of its box office collection, Raazi has got itself in the list of movies like Padmaavat, PadMan, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raid, Hichki, Baaghi 2, 102 Not Out - which are content rich and hit films which audience have loved. Witnesses 50.07% growth on Saturday. "Raazi unlocks your true potential as an actor", Adarsh tweeted. Raazi is likely to earn similar big numbers on Sunday as well, and it's being expected that its collection will cross Rs 30 crore by the end of the first weekend. Total: Rs 18.83 crore. On its release day, the film raked in Rs 7.53 crore, marking a strong start.
Based on 'Calling Sehmat, ' a best-selling book by Harinder Sikka, the film was released on May 11, 2018. It is about an Indian spy married to a Pakistani military officer, played by Vicky Kaushal during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 on the order of her father, played by Rajit Kapur. Vicky Kaushal plays Alia's husband in the film.
The film also stars Soni Razdan, Shishir Sharma, Jaideep Ahlawat and Amruta Khanvilkar and is produced by Dharma Productions.
