Warriors and Rockets advance to National Basketball Association finals

"You know, they have made it known that their team is built to beat us", Green said of the Rockets after the Warriors dispatched the New Orleans Pelicans to book their Western Conference finals showdown with Houston.

The Rockets, on the other hand, opened as + 155. However, it's going to be interesting to see how they defend a team that doesn't rely on just one guy to carry the load. At one point during the season, they clearly missed miss his presence and the Jazz were in danger of falling out of the playoff race in January.

Against the New Orleans Pelicans, Golden State averaged 115 points in five games, giving up 106.4.

Sefolosha, who got into trouble with the league recently after failing a marijuana test, is almost four months into his injury rehab, and is confident of taking to the court next season, after serving his five-game suspension. The Warriors are in a class of their own with regards to the kind of situations they can create and capitalize on in the half court against even the most talented, prepared defenses. With five full off days between the Warriors' and Rockets' respective second-round clinchers on Tuesday and Game 1 of their series, a lot of people will be saying a lot of somethings.

Houston is 0-2 in playoff series against Golden State.

#TakeNoteyear 9 for me was definitely a roller coaster of a season. There's a variety of reasons that caused that, including Golden State's deemphasized importance on regular season wins, but the home-home-road edge for the Rockets remains. With all their stars back from injuries and playing at a high level, it is hard to imagine the Warriors not returning to the NBA Finals.

This off-season won't be like a year ago with the Gordon Hayward circus, but the longest tenured player on the team, Derrick Favors will be an unrestricted free agent.

Durant has not been quite as efficient in his second year with the Warriors due to a dip in his effectiveness in transition, but has otherwise been brilliant in a variety of areas.

The fit-again Curry played 37 minutes, and was heavily involved in a devastating burst of scoring in the third quarter which ultimately took the game away from the Pelicans. Houston merely needs to be itself; the Rockets. Now we know Harden and Paul are big time, but Capela has added an excellent defensive presence. Paul scored or assisted on the Rockets' final 18 points, showing off his array of moves in the process.

He's probably not going to put up as gaudy of numbers against the Warriors, but this version of Chris Paul still exists.

In Paul's 10 seasons after his two OKC years, he averaged 10.2 assists per game but became a sympathetic figure.

Or in October, when Houston won at Golden State on ring night. Harden didn't play in the second matchup of the season, a Rockets' loss.

These two teams met three times this season, with Houston winning two of the three meetings. There's clearly exceptions, as simply being pegged as a one-seed, an achievement accomplished by a larger sample-sized dominance, doesn't inherently make that team the best in the National Basketball Association. Their greatest number of points scored, 116. As an individual player, or as a team.
