Vivo has commenced sending invites to media for a product launch event in New Delhi on May 29. The Vivo X21i is similar to the Vivo X21, but there are some differences as well. The phone will be fueled by the Helio P60 64-bit octa-core SoC, compared to the Snapdragon 660 which is included in the Vivo X21 variants. Thanks to this technology, the company has managed to offer the phone with an nearly zero-bezel screen. The front facing camera on the phone is also hidden and pops up when triggered, saving real estate and looking cool while doing it.
The listing reveals that the smartphone will come with a 6.28-inch S-AMOLED display having a screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio and a 3D curved glass screen on top. The notch on the top features a 12MP selfie shooter which comes with features like IP light fill to take good quality pictures under low light conditions.
On the optics side, the X21 UD comes with a dual camera system on the rear consisting of one 12-megapixel camera with f/1.8 aperture and another 5-megapixel camera for depth sensing.
Connectivity options include- Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, Micro USB 2.0, OTG support, 3.5mm headphone-jack, and Location. However, a previous rumor suggests that Vivo might launch only Vivo X21 with an in-display fingerprint scanner in India and it will be priced at Rs. 34,990. Vivo will include the AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip inside of this smartphone, and a 3,200mAh battery will also be a part of the package, along with fast charging. The Vivo smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo topped with Funtouch OS 4.0.
The new concept phone dramatically increases the screen estate for the fingerprint reader, presenting a sizeable portion of the bottom half of the display to be used for prints. It measures 154.4x74.7x7.3mm and weighs 156 grams. The major highlight of this Vivo X21 UD is its own under screen fingerprint scanner, which means that there is not any physical house button and consumers should simply touch a round onscreen mic instant to unlock their own smartphone.
