The Google Pixel Watch - as it could be called - will reportedly be unveiled during Google's fall hardware event, alongside two new smartphones - the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL - and a second-generation pair of Pixel Buds headphones.
Update: Roland Quandt, a Berlin-based device leaker, has added to the Pixel smartwatch rumour, specifically stating that there will be three smartwatches from Google coming down the pipe.
Do you think the Pixel branded smartwatch will come with its own silicon and could it get an announcement alongside the new and improved flagship family?
Over the years, Google's hardware efforts amounted to phones, tablets, smart home devices, and even Chromebooks.
Now, as for the watch, we have to hope that Google spent a lot of time thinking about what they want to showcase on it. However, according to reliable insider Evan Blass, Google will also unveil a Pixel-branded smartwatch. When enabled, the mode will switch the watch face to a power efficient one and shut off radios, the touchscreen, tilt to wake, and such features which consume more power. It would not be unusual for there to be size or finish differences, seeing how Apple and Huawei adopted similar strategies with their smartwatches. Things are definitely going on in the background, with major players making sure that the wearable market becomes more relevant and that Apple is not the only one that ends up taking a sizable piece of the pie.
