The Purdue women's golf team turned in a score of two-under 286 in the second round of the NCAA Madison Regional at University Ridge Golf Course on Tuesday, moving one spot up the leaderboard and sitting 11th going into the final round.

The NCAA Championships will be held May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

No. 8 Texas is in second place at 10 under, followed by No. 14 Florida (+2) and a four-way tie between No. 21 Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Baylor and Virginia Tech at 5 over.

She struggled in her final round, as she battled rain and wind, but a third round score of 3-over, 75, was enough to put her at tied for seventh overall. "Right off the bat, I birdied the first hole and bogeyed the second". Additionally, the Seminoles' round of 276 is tied for the fourth lowest single round score in school history.

Curtis became the second Badgers player to make the NCAA Championship as an individual, joining Allie Blomquist, who tied for 18th in 2001.

UVa's four scoring players combined to collect five birdies and no bogies over their closing holes and overtook USC for second place.

Senior Kelli Murphy led the charge for Auburn in the opening round, turning in an even-par 72. The Lady Bears then moved up a spot to third after their par round on Wednesday.

Her tie for fourth was UW's best individual regional finish since Katie Connelly won the 2003 Central regional. She shot 1-under-par. She's been on and off with her game all year. "After I made a couple birdies on my first nine and I got to my back nine, I was like, 'OK, let's just settle in and take it from here and see what happens'".

In the program's four previous trips to the regional, the Railsplitters had never finished better than 13th place or with a three-round score lower than 25-over par.

Baylor freshman Diane Baillieux and junior Maria Vesga both went to the emergency room early Wednesday morning with symptoms from a virus that was spreading through the Austin Regional. Amy Lee played an awesome round of golf today. "But we stayed patient and the birdies started to come". "From 3 o'clock in the morning until we got to the tee, that was about the only thing I was thinking about that was going to happen. That was a moment where I really exceeded my own expectations".

The three teams along with the three individuals advance to the NCAA Championships on May 16-19 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.

"Last year, we were really disappointed because we were ranked really high", said sophomore Mariel Galdiano. I didn't birdie any of the par 5s, so I lost a little there, but i played the par 3s and par 4s really well.
