And there's sure to be more great performances in the coming weeks.

Amelia Hammer Harris kicked off the night with Imagine Dragons' "Believer". There's no doubt that the lady has talent and has inherited her family legacy of artistry. Sadly, it wasn't enough to put her through. Katy Perry urged her to present her own style and emotion in the future.

On tonight's episode of American Idol, Bebe Rexha, Lea Michele, Allen Stone, Cam, Rachel Platten, Colbie Caillat, and Banners are the guest performers.

Alyssa Raghu was advised by mentor Bobby Bones to work on her stage movements and she did so while singing Rihanna's "Stay".

Maddie Poppe picked up the mood in a big way with Melanie's "Brand New Key", throwing in plenty of personality. "A star is born", Lionel tells Ada. And it was the right decision, I know. Ada is a diva and a definite artist.

The judges are going to narrow it down to the top 14, but they have to see 12 more celebrity duets! Part of that identity has changed, with Caleb dropping 70 pounds.

Effie Passero slayed Heart's "Barracuda", impressing the judges with her "flawless" vocals. Luke Bryan praised that Effie "sang Ann Wilson better than Ann Wilson". He said he was singing it for his girlfriend, Brittany. Lionel Richie reminded her to "take it", referring to the transformation happening in the singer's confidence. Lionel wasn't insane about it and felt that she didn't stand out.

It's nearly time for America to step in an vote.

Louis Virtel, who has been recapping the show for NY Mag, wrote: "Here's what happened when this performance started: I pushed my laptop to the edge of my desk, looked skyward, and let this Broadway bomb of endorphins, sky-high ambition, and queer dream-making just pulverize me".

Another was Marcio Donaldson, who performed Natalie Cole's "Inseparable".

Mara Justine had her own surprise for everyone watching. That includes Galloway Township native Mara Justine who wowed the judges with her performance of "Run To You" by Whitney Houston. In the end, Luke says the performance was mesmerizing, while Katy loves seeing Shannon finally come out of her shell. But as the season has progressed, she's had a hard time standing out. First, Marcio finds out that he was supposed to sing with Toni Braxton but she can't perform because she's sick. The journey for Jurnee isn't over. "But the two of you - how did you guide [Ada] to get to that", asks Seacrest.

Caleb Lee Hutchinson sang with Bebe Rexha to her hit song with Florida Georgia Line, "Meant to Be".

Teaming up with Banners is Ron Bultonngez singing "Someone to You". Luke tells teen crooner Caleb, "Nobody has "aw-shucks" country boy down better than you". Katy believes Marcio has had a transformation on this show and that he's exuding confidence.
