Kom added another triumph in her glittering boxing career for India on Saturday as she became the 1st Indian women to take home the gold medal in boxing. Four of the judges, however, awarded Mary Kom the round by a slender 10-9 margin. Kristina was trying to do the same thing but her punch was missing.

Mary Kom struck her at will, her right hooks being especially telling. The 35-year-old used all her experience to put the outcome beyond doubt.

More glory came at the Shooting on Friday, with Laetisha Scanlan winning Gold in the Women's Trap final, celebrating her 28 birthday in style.

On another way, Rio Olympics Bronze Medalist Sakshi Malik won her first contest in the 62 kg freestyle wrestling event.
