The US embassy in Turkey will be closed to the public on March 5, 2018, due to a security threat, a notice on the website of the diplomatic mission says.
The State Department did not specify what the security threat was that prompted the closure, but noted Americans should also avoid popular tourist spots.
Ankara Governor's Office released a statement later on, saying that the city has taken additional security measures upon receiving intelligence from USA sources.
