Former captain Mushfiqur Rahim and opener Tamim Iqbal have added to Bangladesh's injury woes ahead of their first Twenty20 worldwide against Sri Lanka in Dhaka on Thursday.

Sri Lanka recently won the two-match Test series 1-0 and will look to stretch their dominance into the short T20I series before heading home for the tri-nation Nidahas Trophy that marks their 70th year of independence.

Perera, who played the first leg of the tri-series in Bangladesh was ruled out with a side strain but was named in the T20 squad.

Batsman Mahmudullah, who captained Bangladesh in the Test series in Shakib's absence, will also fill in as skipper for the T20 opener.

Tamim complained of muscle pain in his left arm and Mushfiqur did not train on Wednesday because of a wrist injury.

Sri Lanka crushed the host by 215 runs in a contest where the highest team total was 226, with the spinners taking 30 of the 38 wickets. The first T20I is crucial as it will put the victors in advantage, with only one more game in the series.
