A fiery crash left five dead after an allegedly stolen auto, an oil truck and two other vehicles collided in Ridge on Wednesday morning, Suffolk County police said.
The crash happened on Route 25 near Woodlot Road in Ridge in Suffolk County at about 11:20 a.m., police said. The violent chain-reaction crash spread debris all over the road late Wednesday morning in the hamlet of Ridge.
Jamel Turner, 23, of Bellport, was driving a stolen 2018 Chevrolet Camaro eastbound on Route 25 when he crashed into a 2012 Mazda, police said. One person inside the vehicle was killed; a second person is being treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The Mazda struck an Infiniti.
A man ran over and tried to open auto doors to pull people out, but the fire was too strong, a witness said.

There was no police pursuit that led up to the crash, WABC reported.
