Jordan's king arrives in Pakistan for talks with officials

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday, bid farewell to Jordanian King Abdullah who departed after completion of a two-day official visit.

They agreed to bring greater focus on enhancing bilateral trade and investment relations, to make the bilateral trade now at USA $ 75 million, commensurate with the excellent political ties existing between Pakistan and Jordan.


President Mamnoon Hussain said Pakistan greatly values Jordan's bold stance on the declaration of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by the United States of America. "Pakistan reiterates its solidarity with the Government and people of the Saudi Arabia and renews its commitment to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as to protect its Holy Places". "The visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II is expected to give a new impetus to the existing fraternal bonds between the two brotherly countries". He also hosted a banquet in honor of the King and his delegation.

King Abdullah II of Jordan appreciated Pakistan's stance regarding the resolution of challenges faced by Muslim Ummah. They agreed to bring a greater focus on enhancing bilateral trade and investment relations to make the bilateral trade, now at Dollars 75 million, commensurate with the political ties existing between Pakistan and Jordan.


The understanding was reached when President Mamnoon Hussain held a meeting with the visiting King Abdullah II of Jordan at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad to discuss Pak-Jordan bilateral ties and other issues of mutual interest.
