Rising Ghanaian pop star Ebony dies in vehicle crash at age 20

The singer died in a ghastly auto crash that occurred late Thursday evening on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

The journalist suspects that the driver of the Jeep in which Ebony was travelling had attempted to avoid running into a heap of sand that was being used for road construction but instead ran into the VIP bus travelling in the opposite direction.

Being a controversial character herself, Schwarzenegger defended Ebony whenever she found herself in some controversy.

It is therefore believed that the "maame hw3" hitmaker may have met her untimely death shortly after paying visit to her beloved family.

The journalist told Daniel Dadzie on the Super Morning Show on Joy FM that an uncle of the late musician, who lives at Bechem also in the Region, has identified at a hospital.

Ebony's passing comes after rising to stardom and at a time many have tipped her to win Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards.

Ebony Reigns, whose real name is Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, came to the musical limelight with her hit tracks "Poison" and "Kupe", but also drew negative attention with her semi-nude dressing on stage.

The rising dancehall and Afrobeats artist was returning from Sunyani, the capital of the Brong Ahafo Region when her vehicle crashed into a bus killing her, a friend and a security man.
