Arizona needed this game to test its toughness; OR needed this game just to see how good it was/is. "I don't think we took a bad three all night; those are shots we typically make". Evans made one of two free throws to give the Beavers a chance but Tinkle's 3 was way off the mark. Defensively, Oregon basketball yields 70.4 points against the opposing teams.

Justice Sueing scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for Cal after scoring a career high 27 against UW. Coleman is the team's leading scorer averaging 18 points per game on the year.

Don Coleman managed 10 points on 3-for-8 shooting. It needed all of those points because Arizona's bench once again nearly came up empty.

Arizona (14-4, 4-1 Pac-12) grinded out a defense-dominated win over Oregon State on Thursday.

OR countered Arizona's defense with 36 3-point attempts, two off its season high, and made 12. The Ducks have a different team than the one the Wildcats saw the last couple seasons, but the emotion and fire was still there as the two teams squared off at McKale Center for the first of two meetings this regular season. The Huskies are still looking for their first Pac-12 win under new coach Jody Wynn.

"I'm really proud of the team the way we came back from the last trip", said senior Marie Gulich, who led the Beavers with 20 points and scored the final three points for the victory.

While Ayton and Pinder drew much of the postgame questioning, Miller ended his postgame media session by talking about Trier and Parker Jackson-Cartwright. Arizona's effective field goal percentage was its biggest strength over Oregon. Scored nearly 50 points this weekend (Trier totaled 46) and was 11 for 11 from the free-throw line in a clutch game.

"That's two or three games in a row that we've defended quite well, so I think we're getting better in that area".

Malachi Flynn led Washington Statewith 24 points, including seven three-pointers.

The Cavaliers never led by more than one point.

Montana climbed to 6-0 in the Big Sky and 14-5 overall. Davis answered with his first 3-pointer of the game and pushed the Cardinal lead back to five.
