She received best supporting actress Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations for her portrayal of the wife of a 1940s MS tenant farmer (Rob Morgan) in last year's period drama "Mudbound".

On her 47th birthday, nine-time Grammy-winning singer Mary J. Blige received a star Thursday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Blige - the self-proclaimed "queen of hip-hop soul" who is best known for hits such as 'No More Drama' and 'Reminisce' - is a nine-time Grammy victor with tens of millions of records sold worldwide. "I say it because I know that now, and I know my worth, and what this means".

The singer has now released a brand new song called "Bounce Back" which she originally teased around Christmas time on her social media.

Also in attendance was writer-director of the film "Mudbound", which Blige starred in, Dee Rees and Uptown Records founder Andre Harrell. I don't think you understand what you did. "Your voice is going to change your life and make you royal", Harrell said, adding that since being introduced on "Soul Train" as "the queen of hip-hop and soul music", the title remains. But God gave me the strength to keep stepping, and to keep my head up regardless of what anybody thought about me, regardless of what was being said about me, regardless of who hated me or who didn't.

Blige came to fame with her multi-platinum 1992 debut album What's the 411? which included the hit Real Love. "We would just dream - we were saying". "Whatever she is going through, she knows she has a responsibility to help others who are going through the same thing", Diddy said. "I love this man so much", she told the crowd.
