House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi lamented that negotiations over the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, known as DACA, were being led by "five white guys", seemingly forgetting that one of them is her No. 2, Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD).
Pelosi's spokesman Drew Hammill sought to downplay the remarks, noting that it was not meant to be a criticism of members of her party.
"The comment is offensive. That same firm just told the employees they were going to be laying off 1,500 people and if they wanted to save their jobs, they could all start working 32 hours", she said.
"But as you know, Leader Pelosi is calling all of this 'crumbs, '" Scully replied. "I am committed to ensuring DREAMers are protected and I will welcome everyone to the table who wants to get this done", Hoyer said.
"Leader Pelosi has every confidence in the leadership of Whip Hoyer and Sen".
A bipartisan group of senators, including Durbin and Arizona Republican Jeff Flake, announced Thursday that they had reached an "agreement in principal" on a solution, though the details of the plan are unknown.
"In terms of the bonus that corporate America received versus the crumbs they are giving to workers, to kind of put the schmooze is so pathetic, it's so pathetic".
"We are giving it to those folks not just because not only are they hard working, but they don't participate in our annual bonus which typically are for salary employees", Fish said during an interview on "Countdown to the Closing Bell" Friday.
Ronna McDaniel, chairwoman of the Republican National Committee, derided the comment on Twitter, along with others in the GOP.
