However it could be because these companies are looking to host their own event, possibly to avoid getting swept up in the craziness that was CES. So by launching the U11 EYEs, the company will re-enter the dual camera smartphone market.
HTC has sent out media "Save The Date" invites for an event that the company is holding on 15th January.

How do you like the HTC U11 EYEs? HTC is reportedly hosting events in Taipei, Hong Kong and Beijing for the launch. It will be offering an aspect ratio of 18:9 and Full HD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels. The upcoming phone has been leaked by the revered Evleaks along with the specifications and the highlights. It also includes Edge Sense to trigger programmable actions by squeezing the phone. The phone was shown in black, silver and red paint jobs.
The HTC U11 EYEs, also known as the HTC Harmony, is the latest mid-range device from the Taiwanese manufacturer, and is set to go on sale in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan on January 17, following the announcement on the 15th. The HTC U11 EYEs is also expected to come in two variants, one with Snapdragon 652 and the other with Snapdragon 660.
Like the U11+, the U11 EYEs has its fingerprint scanner on the back. It will be offered with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which will be expandable via a microSD card.
HTC usually brands the device with "Eye" if both the front and the rear camera setups are identical (e.g Desire Eye).
Reports say the phone could land in Hong Kong, China, and HTC's home country Taiwan first, and then in other markets, including the United States, as HTC Harmony. Running on Android Nougat (likely to have space for upgrading to Oreo), it has a 3,930mAh battery, and the USB-C port.
