According to reports, the attackers pelted stones on the Chief Minister's convoy. The chief minister was at Nandan and Ahinaura as part of his state-wide Vikas Sameeksha Yatra.

Nitish Kumar is now on a statewide tour called "Vikas Samiksha Yatra" from December 12 to ascertain the development situation in the state.

The officials stopped them from reaching where Nitish was going door to door. The police lathicharged to disperse the protesters. The CM was, however, rescued safely by his security guards. "The window panes and windscreens of several vehicles were broken, interrupting the motorcade for a few minutes", a senior official in Bihar government told DNA. Security personnel had a tough time bringing the situation under control.

Nitish said at the meeting that the attack could have been provoked by some vested interests who were against development. "I will continue visiting places to have a firsthand feel of development works".

The Chief Minister urged all to make his January 21 human chain against dowry and child marriage successful.

Nitish also said that he did not bother about such people.

Kumar, speaking at the Bihar Military Police (BMP) ground in Dumraon on Friday, said that he would let his accomplishments and ground realities speak for themselves and not listen to those who are constantly trying to criticize him for not doing enough in the state.
