He was arrested for second-degree marijuana possession in Alabama and is now out of custody after paying a $2,500 bond.
Linebacker Reuben Foster, a 49ers' first-round pick in last April's draft, was arrested Friday in Alabama on marijuana possession charges. He was named the NFL Rookie of the Month in November.
Foster started all 10 games he played in this season and posted 72 tackles, including 64 during the 49ers' final eight games. It was also reported he failed a drug test at the Combine, but another report stated his urine sample was dilute - which automatically counts as a positive test. He suffered an ankle injury during Week 1, which forced him to miss the next five games.
Few details have emerged from Foster's arrest, but this is undoubtedly not a good look for the San Francisco 49ers rookie. No member of the San Francisco defense had more tackles for loss than Foster, who finished the year with seven.
