Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited () has increased the validity of its unlimited call and data packs of Rs. 186, Rs. 187, Rs. 349, Rs. 429, Rs. 485, and Rs. 666 to please its prepaid subscribers.

Giving details of the offer, BSNL said in an emailed statement that the offer would be valid only for new GSM data subscribers who have 3G enabled smartphones. The validity of this pack is 70 days.

Earlier, Airtel has launched other competitive offers to take on Jio's plans. Apart from these, Jio is now offering 3GB data per day and 5GB data per day for 28 days with the Rs. 509 and Rs. 799 packs, respectively. Interestingly, in Odisha, Rajasthan and Haryana circles, both the Rs. 458 and Rs. 509 plans offer validity of 84 days, which essentially leaves the latter redundant. Further, Jio also offers unlimited voice calls on all networks in India, 100 SMSs daily, and free subscription to Jio apps. The two Vodafone recharge packs also offer 1GB data per day, and are better positioned to take on the revised Jio plans with the extra data and validity. A day later, it started offering 70-day validity at Rs. 399. There is also a Rs. 509 pack that was recently to offer a 91-day validity with the same benefits.

The Rs 349 and Rs 429 plans now offer unlimited voice calls (local + STD) and roaming calls along with 1GB data per day and 100 SMS per day. Users would get Rs. 103 of talk time, with call rates of 15 paisa per minute for BSNL to BSNL networks in this prepaid pack. Under this scheme, pre-paid plan priced at Rs 485 will offer 1.5GB data per day with a validity of 90 days. Plan 398 of Jio offers 105GB data for 70 days. Users can also get access to personal ring back tone for a period of 28 days. However, Jio's Rs. 199 pack provides 1.2GB 4G data per day while the Airtel's pack gives only 1GB data per day.
