Fittingly, the social media aficionado made his announcement official with a Twitter video. Taking over midseason for the injured Leonard Founette, Guice led the SEC in rushing yards (1,387) and yards per carry (7.6).

In a move that was widely expected, LSU junior running back Derrius Guice declared for the 2018 NFL Draft and will forgo his senior season with the Tigers.

"Growing up here in Baton Rouge, it was always my dream to attend LSU", Guice said.

Guice finished his LSU career with 3,074 yards and 29 touchdowns on 471 attempts, as well as 32 receptions for 250 yards and three touchdowns. He also added two more scores as a receiver. "Having he opportunity to play for this storied university was truly an honor".

Guice, projected as a first-round pick, set school records for the longest run (96 yards) and rushing yards in one game (285). He had five 100-yard performances this past season, including a 276-yard effort against Ole Miss. He finishes his career with a remarkable average of 6.5 yards per carry. "Growing up in Baton Rouge, it has always been my dream to play for LSU.Entering the National Football League draft has always been my goal and it's the next chapter of my life".

CBS Sports ranks him as the second-best running back in this class behind Penn State's Saquon Barkley, as does Bleacher Report's Matt Miller.
