Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition coming to Nintendo Switch

This morning, Nintendo released a new Nintendo Direct Mini that was packed full of reveals and news for upcoming Nintendo Switch titles.

The World Ends With You, the RPG originally released by Square Enix for Nintendo DS, is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2018. No release date was given for the former Radio Free Nintendo Retroactive title.

No other information has been provided at this time as far as a specific release date, but the other announcements are all slated for the middle of May - so it would be reasonable to assume that Hyrule Warriors will follow suit. This Definitive Edition (expected to come out in the spring) is filled to the brim with playable characters, maps and missions from both the Wii U and 3DS releases, but that's not all. These costumes are based off of their Breath of the Wild appearances with Zelda and Link suiting up in their blue champion attires.

Update 2.30pm: Added the video embed of the Direct and changed game descriptions that we'd previously left ambiguous. While Balloon World sounds like a whole new universe, that's not the case.

There's even a new Mario title in the works, as the man of many hats picks up his racket again in Mario Tennis Aces, due out this spring.

While it wasn't the hour-long affair that many Switch fans were hoping for, the January Direct showed that Nintendo isn't slowing down in the new year.
