The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been accused by the Chairman of the National Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) of being afraid to hold its national convention.
Chairman of the party in the state, Felix Obuah, who made this known at a briefing in Port Harcourt, said the party needs the experience of Secondus, who had made serious contributions to the party's growth.
According to the Governor, "we are not having challenges as it concerns the convention, we are working to ensure that everything is set, today, we took committee reports and I can tell you that everything is going on smoothly".
Adeyeye however said there was no truth in an allegation that some people wanted to tamper with the list, assuring that the list would be made available to the aspirants at least 48 hours before the convention.
At the PDP secretariat yesterday, many PDP chieftains were seen going in and out of the secretariat with business picking up in the area. It is very exciting for all of us.
The petitioners said that their demands became necessary to avoid a situation where the Operatives of the EFCC would start chasing elected officers of the Party shortly after the Convention.
They specifically urged the national leadership of the PDP to be wary of the said fake list by rejecting it.
As it concerns Anambra and Osun participating in the convention, we will basically have to make use of statutory delegates.
It was not clear whether Atiku had asked for waiver or not even as many analysts said the Wazirin Adamawa would definitely navigate his way ahead of the party's presidential primary next year.
Makarfi assured the teeming members and supporters of the PDP and indeed the entire country that his major preoccupation at the moment is to discharge the responsibility given to him to lead the process of repositioning the party, which he hopes will culminate in the conduct of a very credible and transparent convention this Saturday.
Earlier, Makar disclosed that the visit was in line with the tradition of the PDP where elders and leaders of the party are consulted for the right decisions to be taken.
