Mumbai Crime: Murderer of woman with fairy tattoo was her own husband

Body of an unidentified woman, said to be in her early twenties, washed ashore at Juhu Beach on Wednesday evening.

The accused, identified as Prabhuprasad Saha, had married the victim Shakuntala Sharma over one and a half years ago.

Sharma was not identified when her body was found. "Based on our informant network, it came to light that the woman had moved to Versova fromMadh in Malwaniand had been staying there with her husband for a couple of months", said an officer.

According to police, Saha, a resident of suburban Versova, found the door of his house locked from inside when he returned home on Tuesday night.

"On Tuesday night, the argument escalated and he hit her after which he ended up strangling her. Saha then packed her up in a gunny bag and threw her in the Koliwada waters". He put her body in a nylon bag and put it in his autorickshaw. "It has been learned that after killing his wife, Sahu stuffed her body in a bag and dumped it in the sea, but the waves washed it ashore near Juhu Koliwada on Wednesday morning".

Shantanu Pawar, senior police inspector of Santacruz police station, said, "Saha revealed that he had been suspecting his wife of having an affair, and used to have constant tiffs about it".
