Xiaomi's Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus is scheduled for December 7 and the company is expected to bring the new devices to India soon after the launch. The Xiaomi Redmi 5 is priced at $199 (approximately Rs 12,800) for the Black or Gold colour variants while the Blue or Pink colour variants are priced at $209 (approximately Rs 13,500).
Earlier this week, Donovan Sung, Xiaomi Global spokesperson, revealed the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus ahead of launch. Both the phones will look identical, and will only differ in the display size with the Redmi 5 Plus being the larger of the two. The Redmi 5 Plus, on the flip side, might come with Snapdragon 625 SoC on board. The smartphone was listed with a 3200mAh battery - significantly smaller than the Redmi 4's 4100mAh offering.
Moto G5s Plus: Expectations on the handset was high following the successor of its predecessors Moto G4 and Moto G5, and it didn't fail to impress Motorola fans.
According to TENNA listings, the Redmi 5 phone is expected to come with a 5.7-inch HD+ display (1440x720 pixels).
In terms of camera, it mounts a 13MP camera + Depth editor, ƒ/2.0 aperture, color balancing dual LED flash, 8X digital zoom for photos, and an 8MP front-snapper with wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash.
The ongoing trend of the 18:9 aspect ratio screens seems to have hit Xiaomi too and it is all set to debut the screen in the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus.
The Xiaomi device should be launch in three different storage options, which includes 2GB RAM variant with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage and also with 4GB RAM variant supporting 64GB internal storage. Xiaomi has remained mum on the specs and pricing so far, barring some key confirmations such as the 18:9 display, MIUI 9, and a massive battery.
A Snapdragon 435 processor will handle the tasks on the Redmi 5 whereas the Redmi 5 Plus will get a 635 Soc which will be coupled to 2/3/4 GB of RAM depending on the variant.
Huawei Honor 6X: It is one of the best smartphones released this year. Storage is said to be expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). In case of the camera, Redmi 5 will sport a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera.
