Graham shot just 1 of 8 in 40 minutes of action, while Mykhailiuk made just three of his 12 shots from the field.

For the Kansas Jayhawks, they are 7-0 on the season, and have been tested just once.

The focus of Hopkins' phone conversation with McNamara, another former Syracuse guard himself, was nearly entirely on KU point guard Devonte' Graham, who had torched Syracuse for 35 points and was as hot as any player in the country coming into Wednesday night.

Gonzaga 64, Washington State 56: Zykera Rice scored 19 points and Jill Barta added 15 to lead the Bulldogs to the victory over the Cougars.

Franks led the Cougars with 16 points. Dickerson nearly finished the half with a double-double, totaling eight points and ten rebounds.

Syracuse ranks 121st in three pointers attempted per game (22.4) while CT ranks 268th in three pointers allowed per game (23.4). Kansas leads the all-time series edge with Arizona State, 5-4, and won the last meeting, 108-76, on March 22, 2003, in the second round of the 2003 NCAA Tournament in Oklahoma City. Nowell followed this up a few possessions later when he drove into the lane, jump-stopped, and finished a tough shot in heavy traffic. The sophomore center tallied 10 points and brought down a team high nine rebounds.

Kansas led by five points early in the first half, but Washington managed to squeeze out a 36-34 halftime lead and then took over in the second half. Devonte Graham is coming off a 35 point outing for the Jayhawks. The defense, in the words of Self, was "horrendous" and that was evident in the second half. "You got to force them to miss".

Lagerald Vick had a career-high 28 points to lead the 7-1 Jayhawks.

Udoka Azubuike, the big man down low, has not disappointed.

By the Numbers: Washington 74, Kansas 65. With seven minutes to go, Thybulle intercepted a pass from Vick and quickly took the ball the other way for a dunk to make the lead 10.

The game drew inside the three-minute mark and Kansas trailed by double digits.

As a team, the Huskies shot 42.9 percent from three-a figure that stood out, considering Kansas' usually potent offense was limited to a 5-of-20 conversion rate from beyond the arc as the Huskies' 2-3 zone defense flustered the Jayhawks' bevy of shooters.

"When we're playing well we are a good playing team, but we haven't scored all year on plays and that was certainly the case tonight", Self said. Washington had a gameplan going into the night and they executed.
