The front of the Huawei Nova 2S fits in with the ongoing wave of big-screen/small-bezel phones including the OnePlus 5T and the latest from Huawei's own Honor line, the Honor V10, which was just launched yesterday.

Huawei has unveiled yet another mid-range smartphone under the Nova series with the launch of the Nova 2s in China. Just like the earlier Nova handsets, the Huawei Nova 2S is expected to be available in the Chinese market for the first few months, followed by the global release.

The device is powered by anOcta-Core HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC with an IntelliSense i6 sensor hub and Mali G71 Octa-core GPU.The phone will be available in 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage models.

To begin with, the Huawei Nova 2s features a 6-inch Full HD+ display on the front with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It comes with 4GB/6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via micro sd card.


With the Huawei Nova 2S expected to compete in a mid-to-upper range segment of the handset market, it seems as if the manufacturer is playing it safe. The promotional images for the smartphone were posted recently on the Chinese social network website Weibo, revealing that the Huawei Nova 2S will be officially announced on December 7.

The imaging aspects of the Nova 2s comprises of a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 16MP main camera and a 20MP secondary camera with PDAF, LED flash, 4K video recording and f/1.8 aperture. The phone will reportedly run Android 8.0 Oreo and has a 3,340mAh battery. Earlier reports suggest that the front camera will be made of a single 20-megapixel sensor. It's up for debate whether or not a phone actually needs the huge amounts of power that recent flagships offer, and it's likely that the Nova 2S will handle pretty much any task you throw at it. It starts at 2699 yuan ($408 / Rs. 26,350) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage version, 2999 yuan ($454 / Rs. 29,265) for 6GB RAM+64GB and 3399 yuan ($514 / Rs. 33,165) for a special edition Yixing Zhang variant that comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.
