Call of Duty: WWII is looking to kick off its first community event this week, starting on December 8th. During the Winter Siege event, all players will have access to Winter Carentan, a snow-covered winter themed version of the fan-favorite Carentan map, previously only available as reimagined Carentan to Season Pass owners. Headquarters is getting a seasonal revamp too, with a visiting quartermaster along with new Supply Drops full of fresh cold-weather gear.
First things first, the pre-order Carentan map is now opened up to all as winter rolls into town with Winter Carentan. In addition to the game's boots-on-the-ground combat, Multiplayer offers a host of new mode, system and gameplay innovations across iconic map locations; while an all-new Nazi Zombies Cooperative mode unleashes a startling, new storyline and adrenaline filled experience. Winter Siege will also bring back the limited-return of Gun Game, the beloved party game mode that has players racing through a variety of guns against other players. It's not entirely clear whether significant changes have been made to it for this release.
Captain Butcher will take the role of Quartermaster during the Winter Siege event. Everything is snowy and will have your players freezing if they don't get warm, hence why supply drops will now feature new pieces of winter gear to customize your characters with.
Winter Siege begins on Friday December 8th at 6pm in the United Kingdom, and continues through to January 2nd, 2018.
Call of Duty: WWII is available now. Orders will be rotated daily as to allow players to unlock weapon variants each day. It will be one of the titles in the Double XP playlist during Winter Siege. These will be replacing the usual Rare Supply Drops until January 3.
