"Apple Music Up Next 2017 artists Khalid, Daniel Caesar and 6LACK all earned GRAMMY nominations as part of their success this year", the iPhone maker said.

Apple has also released the usual top charts listings for free and paid apps and games.

Apple's list of top free apps for the iPhone and iPad include titles such as YouTube, Netflix, Facebook, and Google Chrome. Games will remain the biggest moneymaker for app developers although a newer monetization model - in-app subscriptions - is already having a significant impact on consumer spending.

On Apple Music, Drake tops album of the year with "More Life", while Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" gets top song honors. Taylor's Swift album Reputation is already the number 3 best-selling album for 2017, despite debuting only a few weeks ago.

Moana came in as the top movie download for 2017, followed by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Wonder Woman.
