Redmi Note 5 was spotted online on the Weibo social network in an image that reveals both the new design that Xiaomi is likely to adopt on several devices in the near future, as well as an nearly complete list of hardware features. The smartphone sports a 5 inch HD display and houses a 3,000 mAh battery. Considering that this Redmi phone is being teased as "desh ka smartphone" chances are that it would be available via offline sales channels like Xiaomi's Mi Home stores as well. Nevertheless, going by this report, the phone must be the Redmi 5 itself. The device is powered by a 1.4GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM. Reports suggest that Qualcomm's latest mid-tier chipset is a ideal match for Redmi Note 5's full-scale FHD+ display. The webpage does not reveal the specifications of the smartphone. This entire package will be fuelled with a 3300mAh battery, a downgrade from the 4100mAh unit seen on the Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi Note 4.
The leaked image, if true, may disappoint fans a bit as Xiaomi was expected to pack in the Snapdragon 630 SoC instead of the 625 under the Redmi Note 5's hood. The handset measures 140.4 x 70.1 mm x 8.35 mm and weighs 137g. The 4GB+64GB storage variant will be priced at 1399 Yuan, which converts to Rs 13,900. There hasn't been much information on the smartphone, but now we have proof to say that, the smartphone will be exclusively sold on Flipkart for the first few sales, later on, the device will be made available across the Mi Preferred partners and Mi Homes across the country. That said, China Telecom removed the listing of the smartphone though.
Xiaomi is scheduled to launch the smartphone on November 30th.
