Mourinho's No.1 Target In January Transfer Window — REVEALED

Newcastle United's lack of goals will be something Rafa Benitez must address in the January transfer window, as summer signing Joselu struggles to supply the Toon with the firepower required in the final third.

Jose Mourinho has made Arsenal star Mesut Ozil his number one target to improve Manchester United's midfield, according to reports in Italy.

The Frenchman spent time recuperating in Miami in October and has since returned to Manchester, where he has been training with United's reserves. On loan at PSV Eindhoven last season, the six-time Netherlands international scored seven goals in 25 league and cup outings.

The 20-year-old is a versatile attacking player, predominantly operating on the right wing but also on the left and in a central role.

The Independent claim the United boss is still frustrated by the failed Ivan Perisic deal and sees Soler as a viable alternative.

Ozil has been heavily criticised for his poor performances at Arsenal in recent seasons following his £42.5m switch to the north London club from Real Madrid in 2013.

The former Juventus man has missed our last 12 matches after suffering a hamstring injury back in September, in our opening Champions League match of the season, which ended in a 3-0 victory for us over Basel.

It is reported that Valencia need to raise around £40million by then and they could do that if they qualify for Europe's premier club competition.

Valencia are currently in brilliant form in the Spanish league.
