Twentieth Century Fox has today revealed a brand-new trailer for The Greatest Showman featuring the soaring track This Is Me and brand new footage.
The Greatest Showman takes Hugh Jackman back to his musical-theater roots in a big way, as shown in the latest trailer for this biographic drama about the legendary P.T. Barnum. He sets out to recruit his cadre of performers, that includes Zendaya as an acrobat, Zac Efron as, we assume, the ringmaster, Rebecca Ferguson as a Swedish opera singer, and Broadway veteran Keala Settle as a very determined-looking bearded lady (Settle also sings "This Is Me", the uplifting song featured in the background). Pulling the ropes behind the camera, on the other hand, is upcoming Australian filmmaker Michael Gracey, while the script is co-written by Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3), Jenny Bicks (Rio 2), and Bill Condon (Dreamgirls). Laurence Mark, Peter Chernin, and Jenno Topping served as producers.
The fine folks at Fox also really want you to know that The Greatest Showman features the musical work of Academy Award-winning La La Land lyricists, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The soundtrack will be released in stores on December 8, 2017. Basically everything they touch turns to gold at the moment, and The Greatest Showman may prove no different. Inspired by the ambition and imagination of P.T. Barnum, "The Greatest Showman" tells the story of a visionary who rose from nothing to create a mesmerizing spectacle that became a worldwide sensation.
