Here We Go: 'TRANSRACIAL' White Guy Says He's Filipino Now

A man in Florida who was born white now identifies as Filipino as part of a reportedly growing "transracial" community.

However, Ja Du a Pinay may be taking things a little too far.

He can often be found driving around his native Tampa, Fla., in a purple Tuk Tuk, a three-wheeled vehicle often used as public transportation in the Philippines. ". I'd watch the history channel sometimes for hours, whenever it came to that and nothing else intrigued me more but things about Filipino culture".

When pressed about cultural appropriation, or the adopting of other cultures and claiming them as their own, he replied: 'I believe people will [take advantage] just like other people have taken advantage of their identity to get their way, but the difference between me and them is that I don't want that. "All they want to do is throw themselves into that culture and celebrate it", Scheckner added.

What else did Ja Du say?

Psychologist Stacey Scheckner told WTSP she's never had a client express a desire to change their race, but she has worked with a number of people who want to change their appearance in some way.

Ja Du's transracial identity is not the first case to garner media attention. The term started picking up steam after Rachel Dolezal stepped down from her position leading a local branch of the NAACP after it was revealed in 2015 that her parents are white, reports USA Today.

Rachel Dolezal was an infamous case in the transracial discussion as of late. I've identified as black.

Despite individuals such as Dolezal and Ja Du saying they feel more inclusive to an ethnic race than they were actually born into, many who might give a pass to transgender folk identifying as the gender other they were born with, continue to challenge the ability of one's ability to usurp their identity simply on ethnicity.

To date, none of them passed off as having a different ethnicity and made it to national TV.

White people, come get your boy.

Ja Du has even created a Facebook page and community for other people who believe that they are not the race that they have lived with. Or stay home, work on a sugar plantation, and be shot for organizing your fellow workers. Hypocrites. You idiots opened this box of idiocy now you can close it.
