And for those curious, it looks like discounts for the PlayStation 4 Pro will be rare if they exist at all.
The PlayStation 4 discount is Sony's spotlight deal of the holiday.
Microsoft has posted some phenomenal Black Friday deals that will kick off starting this week with markdowns on digital games, but Sony isn't about to let all that pass by quietly. It was revealed that there would be a pre-Black Friday sale for PlayStation Plus members starting on Friday, November 17th, and that deals would be up to 40% off on "blockbuster titles" but Sony didn't mention which games would be included in the sale. The deals include discounted PS 4, deal on PS VR bundles, and more.
As well as online gameplay, PS Plus members also get at least two PS4 games free per month, plus games for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. You can snag the PlayStation VR Gran Turismo Sport bundle for $300 (normally it's $400) and the Skyrim VR bundle for $350 (the regular price is $450). The DualShock 4 wireless controllers, including the recently announced translucent controllers that are $5 more expensive than the others at $64.99, will all be sold at only $39.99.
However, as Sony announced only the multiplayer feature of PlayStation Plus will be available during this time, so no free games for everyone.
Don't forget that as a subscriber you also get some new games for your library each month, yours to keep forever. We'll have more details on PS Store Black Friday offers in the coming days, so stay tuned. Black Friday lands on November 24 this year.
