Delhi: Firing inside Rohini court, one dead

Vinod, 31, was shot dead while police was taking him back to the Tihar Central Jail.


The incident happened near the canteen area, triggering chaos in the court premises. In December 2015, a head constable of the Delhi Police was killed and three people were injured after four men opened fire inside the Karkardooma Court Complex in East Delhi. "The accused was overpowered and arrested from the spot along with the weapon", Rishipal, DCP of Rohini.

Rohini Bar Association President Mahavir Sharma told IANS that no entry pass was needed for anyone to enter the court premises. It has also raised concerns over the security of lawyers and judges inside the court premises.


Though Vinod was rushed to a hospital, he was declared dead by doctors. He said the reason for the murder could not be ascertained immediately.

This is the second case of firing outside Rohini court this year.
