Over time and according to your usage, you'll build up a bond of friendship with your Rotom Dex - it is possessed by a Pokémon, after all - which unlocks special items via the new Roto Loto feature.
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are officially in the midst of their major pre-launch PR push. While players originally thought the games would be too similar to last fall's games, recent trailers suggest that this new game is going to be a wildly different experience. On the other side, Dawn Wings Necrozma learns the Menacing Moonraze Maelstrom Z-move which again pulls its enemy through a wormhole before blasting it with six beams of energy.
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon is shaping up to be much more than just a simple re-release.
The new trailer (seen above) confirms that each of Necrozma's new forms will have its very own Z-Move. Both moves cause an opponent to be sucked into Ultra Space, where they are then hit by Solgaleo or Lunala's signature move. Players will find that the base form of Necrozma comes with a brand new regular move called Photon Geyser.
The Rotom Dex will also have a happiness tracker in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, with ingame powerups (not valid in competitive play) being made available. As players befriend the floating PokeDex/Pokemon hybrid, RotomDex will unlock new abilities to make the player's life a lot easier. Using a slot machine style, players can earn new items to use like Roto Encounter which helps players find higher level wild Pokemon more often or Roto Hatch which hatches eggs at a faster rate.
Also discovered in the story is a new Z-Power Ring which will be acquired in-game and can activate to use a wider variety of Z-Moves.
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will release exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on November 17th, 2017.
