Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose would prefer to join Manchester United because he would like to work with Jose Mourinho over Chelsea manager Antonio Conte if he was to leave Spurs in January, according to a report on the Daily Star.
Valued at £45m, StarSport say United are increasingly confident of landing Rose next year.
A source said: "The lure of United is too strong for him and if he had the choice he would pick United hands down".
He underwent surgery in May and has still not featured for Spurs, but has completed his rehabilitation and is expected to return to training within the next week.
Rose was linked to Manchester United earlier this summer, especially after the England International publicly criticised Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and the club's strict wage structure which see's even the club's top earner Harry Kane earn around £100,000-a-week.
The Daily Star claim United are confident of landing the England worldwide for £45million next summer and that the player has his heart set on the move going through ahead of the World Cup in June.
Spurs are likely to drive a hard bargain and demand a huge fee for Rose, who has established himself as one of the best left backs in the Premier League over the past three years. The publication writes that: "United boss Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen on signing a quality left-back, with doubts remaining over the long-term future of Luke Shaw".
But Mourinho knows the addition of Rose, with his lightening speed and attacking threat going forward, would be a huge asset to his side.
