Burton wrote: "Seriously, thank you for that". Everyone forgot though. "I didn't forget", Burton responded.

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein may have kickstarted the careers of Ben Affleck and Matt Damon with their breakout hit "Good Will Hunting", but the Cambridge compadres aren't letting the growing claims of sexual assault and harassment against the former Miramax chief slide.

Hours after Affleck issued his statement saying, "I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn't happen to others", McGowan tweeted at Affleck, alleging that he'd seemed aware of Weinstein's mistreatment of women. We need to do better at protecting our sisters, friends, co-workers and daughters.

With that, Burton - who is pregnant and expecting her second child with The Walking Dead's Jeffrey Dean Morgan - shared outtakes from TRL, in which she appeared to address the alleged situation. It started when a Twitter user posted, "Ben Affleck should've just kept quiet".

On Tuesday (October 10), a fan tweeted, "He also grabbed Hilarie Burton's breasts on TRL once".

However, Affleck's condemnation of the recently-fired The Weinstein Company founder failed to resonate with one particular actress, Rose McGowan - who has worked with the Batman actor in 1998 thriller Phantoms. "I TOLD HIM TO STOP DOING THAT" you said that to my face.

"Girls. I'm so impressed with you fearless ones", Burton tweeted, posting a link to a video of an episode of TRL outtakes.

She also wrote in response: 'Ben Affleck fuck off'.

"I was a kid", she said. "I was never conscripted to do anything". 'Because if I were a strong woman, I would have kicked him in the balls and run away. "I feel disgusting for these women and it's wonderful they have this incredible courage and are standing up now".

As you surely saw, the Live By Night director scrambled to release a statement about Harvey Weinstein after he was put on blast for staying silent on the indie movie mogul's sexual misconduct scandal.
