The roller coaster ride in East Rutherford is not over yet - not even close.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the suspension stemmed from a "heated" argument between Rodgers-Cromartie and McAdoo that began when the cornerback was pulled from Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has been suspended by the Giants after showing up to practice Wednesday and leaving shortly thereafter, Ben McAdoo said. The heat never cooled off. Landon Collins, a safety on the team, said there was an altercation on Sunday.

The Giant, who told ESPN he planned on returning Thursday, said he was suspended before he left.

In a battle between winless teams on Sunday, the #New York Giants fell to the San Diego Chargers, dropping their record to 0-5. He spoke to the coaching staff about his disappointment with his role. "We will suspend him". There were also many issues with star receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. before his injury.

McAdoo was asked about the perception that he has lost the team, to which he responded: "Not concerned about perception, concerned about reality". Ross Cockrell entered the game when the Giants used their nickel sub-package, bumping Rodgers-Cromartie back inside. The offense wasn't performing as well as it should have been prior to the injuries this past weekend, and there has been drama in NY all year. With him suspended, an incredibly banged up Giants team will have one fewer competent body to put on the football field every week. Rodgers-Cromartie wanted to start on the outside, not in the slot.
