Mesut Ozil could reportedly be forced into staying at Arsenal after failing to find any other clubs willing to meet his wage demands.

The 28-year-old has yet to score or provide an assist, although he has missed the past few games with a knee injury. However, he is expected to return to the pitch before the turn of the year.

Reports have claimed that the German global has already reached a pre-agreement with the Red Devils to join them on a free move once his contract with the Gunners expires next summer.

Manchester United, Inter Milan and Besiktas have been linked with the Gunners playmaker. However, Riedle wants to see the former Schalke and Werder Bremen star to reignite his career in Germany.

The Gunners chief has had Germany global playmaker Ozil and England worldwide forward Welbeck back in training this past week after the pair missed the final round of World Cup qualification matches with respective knee and groin problems. "Who knows", Riedle told broadcaster Omnisport. He shouldn't do it.

Mesut Ozil has been an interesting player at Arsenal.

"The best option is if he would, from my point, if he would come to the Bundesliga". It's a really good option because we get another national player back in our league.

The German's agent, Dr Erkut Sogut, has insisted that talks over a new contract between the two parties are progressing well, and that the former Real Madrid star has no desire to leave the Premier League just yet.

The Serbia global is also a transfer target for the likes of Bayern Munich and Arsenal.
