Andy Cohen has been tapped to co-host CNN's New Year's Eve telecast alongside Anderson Cooper after Griffin was sacked by the news network earlier this year.

The twosome will ring in 2018 from Times Square in NY on CNN's "New Year's Eve Live with Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen" on Sunday, December 31.

Cohen hosts Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Bravo, and summer series Love Connection on Fox.

"As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing", Melania Trump said in a statement to NBC News at the time. "We are pleased to see she has apologized and asked that the photos be taken down".

For his part, Cohen had also hosted several New Year's Eve specials in recent years, dating back to 2010.

CNN terminated its agreement with Griffin to appear in its New Year's Eve program in May, after her photo shoot in which she held up a "decapitated" head of President Donald Trump and was blasted both by the left and the right.

Cohen and Cooper, long-time friends of at least 25 years, will lead CNN in its 11th New Years Eve Live show.

Per the comedian, she and Cooper ended their personal friendship after the newsman didn't come to her defense following the fallout. "It is going to be a blast!" said Cooper. The two will co-host CNN's New Year's Eve coverage.
